Weekly Training Effort Update

Tuesday evening I worked Grace before and after Bern's agility class. First we practiced weaves - which are improving. Next we worked on a stop at the bottom of the dog walk. She is starting to sail around the course and I see issues may arise if she decides to sail off the contact obstacles. Last we walked back to the back of the field to practice the teeter. Our path returning towards the car passed close to a 6 pole channel weave set open about 2 inches... she walked over and freely weaved for me. YIPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She frequently freely offers to do other equipment. It will be great if she will do that with the weaves soon. Following Bern's class Grace practiced basic turns on a small course... Tracey says Grace has power steering and Bern is a manual shift. Oh, is the power steering fun but I see lots of off courses in our future as she goes sailing along. Check out the hang time in the photos below.

Bern handled really good in class - we tried lots of direction (left/right) and some pushes (out). I got a few clean sets of 12 poles out of him (then I stopped asking him to weave because that is all he has in him on any one night). My new pole handling entry strategy seems to be working better.

Grace got to do obedience Thursday after I taught puppy class. She is improving all around... more proper sits in heal position, better attention and healing, managed a recall with a finish, and stayed in sit and heal position during the long sits and downs. She is still grumbling on her stand for exam but at least she stands now.

Micheal Loftis has the photos from the Amite trial posted. Here are the ones I purchased:
Tracey and I have plans to practice tracking early Sat AM. Grace has not had a chance to track in several weeks.
