Obedience Training Update

Grace is entered in the Deep South obedience trial this weekend. We are working on Rally Advanced moves... she is remembering well and learning the new concepts quickly. Her default halt position is still forward of sit so I really need to encourage with a happy voice a quick sit on all finishes and halts. We may Q this weekend but it will be sloppy.

Bern is not entered but is practicing on his drops and his retrieves towards his next obedience title. This evening I got a quick drop from a stand with me across the room. I also got 3 retrieves with him taking a few steps to bring me the dumbbell each time. I quit while I was ahead.

High value treats (left over steak) were good motivators for both dogs. I'm more optimistic now that Bern will actually learn all the Open exercises in the next several months so we can try for his CDX title.

Bathroom update: Pierre and his helper put the tub back in yesterday. The tile guy is coming by tomorrow morning to check out the job... hopefully he will agree to take on the tiling effort. The cabinets and sink/counter tops are ordered and on their way. I need to work on the lighting soon. My goal is to have the bathroom finished (repainted, etc) by the end of Labor Day weekend. That gives me another month which now seems a reasonable goal.
