Planting/Seeding our Winter Garden

Saturday afternoon I shopped at a few of the plant nurseries near the house. Harb's Oasis was having their winter garage sale which means lots of cheap plants to fill in holes with. I also purchased winter veggie transplants for the raised beds.

Sunday afternoon following Grace's herding lesson was gardening time. The raised beds were weeded, peat moss tilled in, pine straw mulch spread, and transplants/seeds planted. This was all completed in time for the Super Bowl Kickoff so we could cheer the New Orleans Saints to victory. This is the largest winter garden I've planted. There are carrot, radish, and snap pea seeds planted as well as transplants of red cabbage, white cabbage, onions, garlic, brussel sprouts, broccoli, and three types of lettuce.
