AKC Obedience, Alexandria, LA

Grace - 3rd Wildcard Open
Tracey and I went to a combined confirmation and obedience show this weekend.  Obedience was set off in a seperate building; unfortunately the majority of the building was rented for crating and grooming space by the confirmation folks.  Lots of barking, blow dryers, and hair in the air.

Bern tried Open A Saturday and Sunday.  He was clean going into the stays on Sunday... he sat for 52 seconds and shifted to his snooze position (a down).  NQ.  Videos are available for Sat and Sun.  We are trying again in Folsom this coming weekend.

Grace played in wildcard classes doing Novice on Sat and Open on Sunday.  I think she was more comfortable with the venue on Sun which made for a very animated and spunky obedience effort on her part.  She came in 3 out of 4 dogs but one of the dogs had an OTCH so I'm not suprised at her placement.  Video available for Sun.

Kazee looked really good in Utility for Tracey... she is so close to Qing!!!  Spirit finished up her RE too.

Beth Gardener was at the show.  Beth owns several dogs from Tammy Flaga of  Flagtree Minature American Shepherds.  This is the kennel that I posted puppy photos from last summer.  The litter was 6 bitches and I was hoping for a brother, not a sister, for Grace so I ended up not getting a puppy from that particular litter.  Well as it turns out Beth has one of the now 7 month old pups and would like to find her a performance home.  Flagtree's Simply Spicy is on a test run stay at Meadowood Ranch and is fitting in great as she is very much not an alpha dog.  Spice's puppy pictures are below... when we get her still for a nanosecond I'll post more current pictures.  At 7 months old she is near or slightly above 14" tall - likely a 16" jumper in AKC but that shouldn't be problem for her at all.
