- Sat: One of the judges was unable to attend but sent his Open Jumpers course for us to run on Sat. It was very twisty and by the time we got to the weaves near the end of the course, Bern was too twisted and couldn't get through all the weaves. However, we had a much straighter shot at the weaves in Open Standard course on Sat - clean score card, 1st place and his OAP title. Last but not least came Novice FAST. Polly and I laid out a 59 point easy folded circle for Bern and Rocket to run... only 3 of us started on that side of the course. Well Rocket ran the plan, Bern ran the plan too but couldn't see the tire and got frustrated when I ask him to try again and was looking at me and not for the tire. So much for that 9 point combination tire-jump. We finished with 50 points - the minimum to Q, 2nd place and his NFP title.
- Sun: Our first try at Exec Standard.... he was weaving great and then fell out on the last 3 poles. I think he was weaving faster than he has control doing. The rest of the course was not as smooth as I would like. I didn't give him a cue quick enough coming off the dog walk on a turn to look for the jump... he was watching me and had to jump out of the way of the wing instead of over the jump. I had high hopes for our Open Jumpers run... it started out jump, weave. Okay I thought, no momentum going into the poles he should get this. But it was a sharp turn into the weaves and I got a pole, pole, bobble....bobble, pole, bobble, pole weave attempt. The rest of the run was smooth, quick, and clean so I was really pleased. Several folks said he looked great on both the runs on Sunday.
