Distance Handling Class... Bern did some

I got to the agility field later than I wanted but I had other commitments. I ran Grace a little before Bern's class (weaves, A-frame, teeter, etc). Her weaves are improving, her teeter is great, and she is an A-frame hog. After Bern's class, I ran Grace through some wing jumps which worked fine. Tracey ran her just in case Grace needs a Sun AM volunteer handling for our show... she did several obstacles and then ran back to check in with me. Tracey was able to take off and then put back on her tug leash with little or no grumbling. Based on her great efforts last night I've decided to enter Grace in the LCCOC show... she can probably Q in Novice FAST but her weaves are still not closed. Several club folks think I should let her run at the trial.

Our practice course for Bern's class was the Feb Clean Run distance handling course by Jane Simmons-Moake. Bern actually went out several times... much better than he had done in previous distance handling classes. I think he is really getting the game aspect of the sport and is now looking for obstacles to do. Occasionally he went out to the wrong obstacle but at least he went and was looking for an agility thing to do. I tried to praise all distance work even if he took the jump instead of the tunnel. Tracey, John, and Polly were all in class and noticed the improvements too. Open (2nd level) FAST here we come.
