The Grace Escape!

We have a 48" exercise pen panel across the bottom of the stairs to keep the dogs off the carpet and out of the upstairs. Two times a week, I open the ex-pen and send Grace up the stairs so she can take a bath in our only bath tub. A few days ago she figured out how to push open the ex-pen and let herself upstairs so she could sleep with Mom. So we bungeed the ex-pen to the banister uprights on the staircase to keep her from being able to push the ex-pen wire away from the bottom of the stairs. Well that didn't work even for one night. I had barely turned out the light when I heard the jingle of rabies tags at the foot of the bed. Having a small dog does have it disadvantages when it comes to keeping the dog penned up or out of an area. I think she is now climbing up and through the openings between the banister uprights. The engineer will figure out something but it may take a few more failed attempts.
