Bern Now Doing Double Drops

This week we finally made it to both agility classes. Bern's class on Tuesday night was a distance handling class from Jane Simmons-Moak article in Clean Run. John Runnels was filling in for Blake as instructor. Bern doesn't handle well at a distance. He is getting better but still is very much a velcro dog. I let Grace play some on the course with little attempt at distance handlingyet.

Grace's class on Wednesday is a basic handling class. Nedra is fussing that I haven't managed to get her weaves closed yet... her classmates are all on closed weaves. I promised Nedra I would make it a priority this week to work weaves. This is when working at home would be nice because we could practice more but I'm home in the morning and the evening so we will try for 2 short sessions a day. Grace happily weaves with a 3" opening in the channel. I just have to close them but that will take several incremental movements in still.

We did some obedience work yesterday. I'm trying to improve a few things with Grace (her left finish is still ragged) before this weekend. I'm hoping Bern will at least drop on his recall and do the broad jump.... dumbbell won't be there by the weekend. With Bern I now get double drops, he drops when requested on the recall and then comes the rest of the way in and drops. We are working on listening for the command and doing what is asked. He was better by the end of the session yesterday on the whole recall exercise.

Most of the dining room is back together. I feel good about finally getting the beam painting finished. There are some other similar projects that I'm queuing up to do. I'll just tackle them one at a time.
